Serralves em Festa celebrates 20 years with 50 free hours of culture
Serralves em Festa returns to Porto from 29 to 31 May for its 20th edition, with 50 hours of free art, music and performance across the Serralves complex. The festival once again turns the park, museum and house into a continuous cultural stage for local and international audiences.

The festival, presented by Fundação de Serralves, is described as the biggest free contemporary art event in Portugal and one of the largest in Europe. This year’s edition runs non-stop from Friday, 29 May, until Sunday, 31 May, with exhibitions, music, dance, street theatre, circus, workshops and film screenings.
Serralves says the programme brings together national and international artists and keeps a strong focus on inclusion, sustainability and environmental awareness. The event unfolds across the Serralves Museum, the Villa and the Park, making it one of the most recognisable spring fixtures in Porto’s cultural calendar.
Over the past two decades, Serralves em Festa has become a major attraction for residents and visitors alike, drawing thousands of people to the venue each year. The foundation notes that the festival has grown into a landmark for contemporary artistic expression in Portugal, with hundreds of activities spread across multiple spaces.
