Porto hosts the 14th edition of Porto City Race next weekend, bringing urban orienteering to three locations on 10 and 11 October. The event is part of the Portugal City Race 2026 circuit and combines physical activity with the challenge of navigating the city using a map.
Saturday’s programme begins at the Asprela University Campus, where the sprint stage is scheduled to start at 10:00. The day continues with the Troféu Costa Leite, also known as PCR by Night, with the competition starting at 19:30 near the University of Porto Rectorate. The evening stage offers a different orienteering experience, with participants navigating their routes after dark.
The programme concludes on Sunday, 11 October, at the Campo Alegre University Campus. The final stage is scheduled to begin at 10:00 and includes OriAdaptada, an adapted orienteering activity included in the official programme.
Organised by Grupo Desportivo dos Quatro Caminhos in partnership with Porto City Council, through Ágora, the event is open to people of all ages. Participants can take part individually or in groups, and previous experience is not required. According to the organisers, monitors will provide guidance and instruction for those who are new to orienteering.
By bringing the sport into university campuses and other urban settings, Porto City Race offers participants a practical way to explore different parts of the city while developing navigation skills. Its three-stage format also makes the event accessible to people looking for a sporting activity that combines outdoor exercise with discovering Porto.
