MALHA: Porto Looks Back at Its Cultural Future With New Porto 2001 Exhibition

CM Gaia
A new music series, Morro Sonoro, will bring 12 free outdoor concerts to Jardim do Morro in Vila Nova de Gaia between June 27 and September 12, 2026. The initiative is organised by the Municipality of Gaia in partnership with Ritmos, turning the popular riverside park into a meeting point for music and the local community.
The programme brings together Portuguese and Brazilian artists working across contemporary music sung in Portuguese. Brazilian performers including Maria Luiza Jobim, Tulipa Ruiz and Ana Frango Elétrico are part of the line-up, with influences ranging from Brazilian popular music and jazz to electronic, indie and experimental sounds.
The series also features a broad selection of Portuguese projects, including Nunca Mates o Mandarim, Asa Cobra, Hot Air Balloon, RABBIT, Femme Falafel and Nuno Lopes. Reggae, dub and sound system culture will also feature through performances by Bezegol, Ponto de Equilíbrio, Rude Bwoy Banda and Real Rockers Hi-Fi. With free admission throughout the programme, Morro Sonoro aims to make live music accessible while celebrating the diversity of contemporary music in Portuguese.
