This Monday, FC Porto starts changing the pitch at Estádio do Dragão, which will now have a new top-of-the-range carpet.

This will be the first floor in Portugal with «GrassMax» technology, a 100% natural grass solution reinforced with synthetic fibres.

This floor was installed in the Lusail Stadium, which hosted the final of the World Cup in Qatar, but also in other iconic venues, such as Maracanã, Parque dos Príncipes or Santiago Bernabéu, with Real Madrid opting for this solution this year.

The hybrid «carpet» produced by a Swiss company becomes especially reliable for sewing synthetic fibers to reinforce the natural grass and stabilize the roots, which makes the ground four times more resistant, with a 10-year guarantee.

The implementation of the lawn will require the use of heavy machinery, so the works will last for almost two weeks, with completion scheduled for the 23rd of June.
