EDP Vilar de Mouros - First day filled with Rock, Punk and Experimental music

A vast musical variety fulfilled a first of three days at EDP Vilar de Mouros, in Caminha

The 17th edition of EDP Vilar de Mouros began smoothly with a day whose line-up was still intact. That's due to some logistical obstacles from other bands that forced changes to the lineup of the following days.

The Black Teddys

The young group from Portugal's South, Algarve, was tasked with premiering the main stage. The indie rock band made its debut in the north of Portugal. And what a privilege to do so in the early spotlight of the sponsor stage! The enthusiasm was later shared by the band:

We're out of words to describe what happened this afternoon... Thank you to the organization, thank you to our team and thank you to the audience which was fantastic.

Battles

The ears of a growing audience were already warmed up, and Battles came on the scene. The two artists, coming from America, got the public's attention with their interesting musical experiments. In fact, the group has already two decades of carreer, so, no surprise on that. Props!

Gary Numan

Daylight was gone with the experiments, and Gary Numan emerged to bring a lot of action to a well composed croud.

He hadn't set foot on Portuguese soil for 10 years, so expectations were high. The show, along with all the sound energy, is filled with visual, through lots of light, shadow, characterization and movement. Yes, the frontman showed his tripod every corner of the house.

The day ended up with Placebo and Suede, which were not part of this coverage. Follow up for more content on the EDP Vilar de Mouros 2022!
