A remarkable event happening every year to launch the beginning of Christmas celebrations in Porto

Thousands of people gathered on Friday on Avenida dos Aliados in Porto to witness the lighting of the Christmas lights. In addition to the traditional giant tree, 91 streets in the city are illuminated. The moment was celebrated with a free concert by Diogo Piçarra.

The holiday programming extends across various areas of Porto. In the Cordoaria area, there is a Christmas market and a Parisian carousel, while at Largo Amor de Perdição, there is also an ice rink.

The lights will be on from December 1st to January 7th. During this period, the lighting will operate from Sunday to Thursday between 6 pm and 11 pm. On Fridays, Saturdays, and holiday eves, it will be extended until midnight.
